Artists at Work

Every volunteer for camp this week uses some form of art in their profession. Each of them presented their work to the students today.

Here are a few things the students had to say about what they learned:

It comes in many shapes and forms. There are a lot of opportunities, not only the title of "artists". The photography and advertisement seem really interesting. -Jessica

It takes a lot of work. It would be really fun to make books.

I learned that art can be used in a lot of different jobs in the professional world. I could see myself being a graphic designer. -Kayce

Art is a coping skill and something they just winged. I would enjoy photography. -Lindsey

This morning Evan G. Palmer taught us to use Adobe InDesign during the Graphic Design Course.

Evan is an extremely talented Comic Artist. Thanks for dropping by Evan! You're welcome back any time.

Graphic Design Poster Themes

For the Graphic Design course each student will create a poster using a self-chosen theme related to something that they are passionate about, or, where their heart is!

These students would like to tell you what theme they chose and why:

ASHLEY: My family & music cause these matter to me. They make me feel better about my life.

LINDSEY: My them is "stay together or leave forever" and the reason I picked this theme is because everybody has some one that they love and every one has some one who left them for a longtime.

MISTY: I am going to make my theme about my culture and I will use pictures of eagles and wolves.

JESSICA: My theme for this project is musicals. I chose this because musicals are a big part of my life. I love to see them and to be in them. Musicals are also a common interest in my family that brings us together. I find how them fascinating and I am really passionate about it.

KAYCE: My theme for this project is love and music. I chose It because I really believe in love and love can do anything. And music because music helps me through everything. Music helps me express the words that I can’t say.

Day 3!

We spent time outside appreciating the beauty of nature this afternoon. All the students had impressive sketches!

Our instructor, Erika, taught us to focus on the following:

Here's Misty turning her smaller sketch into an
beautiful large scale drawing! Can't wait to watch
this and all the other student's drawings unfold tomorrow!

What is important to you in your life?

My family because they're always there and have loved me no matter what. My friends because they help me get through everything. -Kayce

Other than family, nothing really. -Misty

My education because I want to be a teacher and possibly a singer. -Mz. Ti3

My biological family cause I have the strongest feelings for them. -Ashley

Art because it is fun and loving. -Lindsey
